Trained by one of the top lawyers in the United States, Donna Drumm, Esq. combined her business degree with her law degree to build a firm that focuses on solutions, thoroughness and efficiency.
Her Americans with Disabilities advocacy began when she met a woman who suffered from PTSD who could not find anyone to represent her. She was sued for over one million dollars for the wrongdoings of her ex-husband. This very bright woman struggled with her PTSD while coping with the starts and stops of her case. After years of fighting an administrative commission and superior court, she won and her good name is restored. She went on to create a bill that became law which will protect other spouses in her state. IT CAN BE DONE!!
Respected by lawyers and the judiciary, Donna was trained by the top ADA educator and author, the late Dr. Karin Huffer who linked the power of the ADA to seeking accommodations for persons with disabilities to make the courtroom a level playing field.
Advocating for Clients with Visible and Invisible Disabilities
I’ve always been drawn to the courtroom. But for many clients, stepping into that space is overwhelming. Courtrooms can feel as intimidating and unfamiliar as a hospital is to someone who has never worked in one. The same is true of other unfamiliar spaces—like universities, assisted living facilities, or even a co-op or apartment building—where people must navigate complex systems of rules and regulations they don’t fully understand.
For people with disabilities—whether visible or invisible—the challenge is not only living with the disability itself, but also having to request and secure accommodations within these systems. That process often creates new barriers: added stress, trauma, and the erosion of energy and joy in daily life. What should be a bridge to equal access too often becomes another obstacle to overcome.
The Americans with Disabilities Act provides a framework to level the playing field. It ensures that individuals with both visible and invisible disabilities, whether long-standing or emerging during these struggles, have the right to the accommodations and support they need to move through unfamiliar systems with dignity and fairness.
